02-23-2015 BIRTHDAY PARTY!

Another week down and it is getting close to my year mark. There are 3 guys from my group in the zone and we are going to have a party when it gets here. This week was transfers. Elder Alvial has left me and now I have a companion from Washington state. His name is Elder Holloway. He is pretty cool. He has been out  for 15 months. I have only been in this are area for 1 transfer and I'm leading it now. I'm trying to remember and continue to learn the place but it we are working hard and having success. I love this area and the people here. We were supposed to have a baptism on Sunday but it had to be postponed because they got kicked out of the shack they were living in. We will be having a lot of baptisms in March. Which I am excited for.  Sunday we had a birthday party for some daughters of members. Yes we did buy the cake on Saturday ha. It was really fun to spend time with them. I'm enjoying my time out here. I hope everything is going good back home. Thank you for all  the prayers and support. I love you all.

Lovin the lil kids!

This week was pretty good. It was my last week with Elder Alvial. The man from Chile. He is getting transferred on Tuesday and I will see who I get. I didn't want him to go yet because we have had a lot of fun. Oh well the Lord sends us where he wants us. We had a lot of success this week. We taught a lot of lessons and this Sunday we should have 3 baptisms. Too bad my companion is leaving the week before ha. On Valentines day I realized I have been endowed for a year and I thought that was pretty cool. On Sunday there was stake conference and the chapel was packed. It was cool because we had a lot of speakers some of them being President and sister Dunn. My mission president. I really liked when one of the speakers talked about how we are in a war but not a war that we can see. We are at war with the adversary and it can be easy to forget that. We really must watch and pray always. I hope everyone has a good week.

02/09/2015 FIRST BIKE IN 11 MONTHS, PDAY BOWLING.....

First bike in 11 months...

Hello everyone,

Another week gone. This week I hit my 11 month mark. One more month and it is halfway over which is crazy. This last Monday we had our zone activity and we went bowling. It was the first time I went bowling for a very long time. I did much better than I thought though. We had a powerful week as far as the people in our area. Lots came to church and we found a bunch of new people to teach. As far as lessons though we didn't get much. My companion was sick on Wednesday so we stayed home. It was a long day ha. The power went out at about 6 and was out until about past 8. I had an impression to pray and I had the thought that it would be funny if the power came on right as I closed. Then I kneeled down and prayed my heart out about a bunch of things and included the power. Then as soon as I ended the power came on. My companion looks at me and says thanks man you are a powerful missionary ha. We got bikes this week and it made the work go much faster until I broke mine. They were really old and the chain snapped. We will get new ones this week. I felt like a real missionary on a bike ha and a little goofy. This week I read the part in 3 Nephi where Jesus talks about tithing. The manual said there are those who say I can't afford to pay tithing and there are those who said I can't afford not to pay tithing. Tithing really is a blessing. Even though I don't pay tithing here I always make sure I pay fast offering. Well I hope everyone has a good week. Thank you for all the support.

02/02/2015 BENONI ZONE

This week was pretty good. I heard that the super bowl was yesterday and I had no idea. Hope everyone had a good superbowl party ha. I'm still fighting a cold here. The reason for getting a cold in the summer is because it is so much cooler here. We are teaching a lot of families which is amazing because it can be difficult in Africa to do so. We also have a lot of investigators that come to church more than my last areas. We have at least 9 every week I've been here so far. We are meeting a lot of new people and it is awesome. I taught district meeting because the district leader asked me too. I taught on service and it went great. This February we are doing a 100% obedient to bring miracles and I'm really trying this. I also encourage all of you to do the same. They even announced it in sacrament meeting. Everything is going great. I'm loving it out here. I hope everyone is doing good at home. I pray for you all. Have a good week.
